La ponent exposa la situació a Catalunya de les residències de gent gran i tota la xarxa assistencial, les característiques socioeconòmiques dels usuaris, condicions econòmiques i serveis a què es poden assolir, comparant-lo també amb la resta de les comunitats. La pedra angular de tota aquesta xarxa assistencial prové de la Llei de dependència, del 2006, i s’exposa la situació laboral dels treballadors en una situació força lamentable (ràtios per persona, remuneracions, etc.)

The speaker presents the situation in Catalonia of the elderly people’s homes and the entire care network, the socio-economic characteristics of the users, economic conditions and services that can be reached, also comparing it with the rest of the communities. The cornerstone of this entire assistance network comes from the Dependency Law, of 2006, and the labor situation of workers is exposed in a rather unfortunate situation (rates per person, remuneration, etc.)
