Laudatio de Ricardo Caracciolo. Entrega del IV Premio Internacional de Cultura Jurídica

En paraules de Jordi Ferrer, la darrera de les sessions segons el nostre programa consisteix en la laudatio i el lliurament del Premi Internacional de Cultura Jurídica, 2024, a Ricardo Caracciolo. Passo la paraula a Pablo Navarro. És un honor presentar l’elogi de Ricardo Caracciolo al lliurament d’aquest Premi. Aprofitaré aquesta circumstància per oferir un relat de la meva amistat amb Ricardo, de la seva influència sobre la meva vida acadèmica, o enumerar les seves mostres incomptables d’afecte, generositat i preocupació pels vaivens del meu destí. Aquests són deutes massa grans per esgotar-los en un grapat de minuts; tampoc pretenc revisar les aportacions de Caracciolo a la teoria del dret i la ciència jurídica. Més aviat el meu interès és subratllar alguns aspectes de la seva manera de ser, del seu compromís amb els amics, la família, la comunitat i la vida acadèmica. Per descomptat en aquesta tasca serà Inevitable tornar sobre algunes de les meves pròpies anècdotes i experiències. Però elles només pretenen il·lustrar les raons per les quals Ricardo Caracciolo indubtablement mereix aquest reconeixement. La llista dels deixebles parla amb eloqüència de la grandesa d’un mestre, i en el cas de Ricardo ens mostra tant la seva capacitat per reunir joves talentosos com també per incentivar-ne el creixement acadèmic, ajudar-los a perseverar en les seves vocacions i col·laborar perquè hi puguin accedir a escenaris internacionals més exigents i prestigiosos; encara que ara sembli estrany en aquests temps cap de nosaltres, els seus deixebles, anomenava mestre Ricardo, ja que ell evitava aquesta etiqueta subratllant, sense falsa modèstia, que el mestre, és a dir Ernesto Garzón Valdés, encara estava absent... Segueixen les anècdotes i la posada en valor de les seves accions al llarg de la vida acadèmica

In the words of Jordi Ferrer, the last of the sessions according to our program consists of the laudatio and the presentation of the International Prize for Legal Culture, 2024, to Ricardo Caracciolo. I pass the floor to Pablo Navarro. It is an honor to present Ricardo Caracciolo’s eulogy at the delivery of this Prize. I will take advantage of this circumstance to offer an account of my friendship with Ricardo, of his influence on my academic life, or to list his countless displays of affection, generosity and concern for the ups and downs of my destiny. These are debts too large to be exhausted in a handful of minutes; Nor do I intend to review Caracciolo’s contributions to the theory of law and legal science. Rather, my interest is to highlight some aspects of his way of being, his commitment to friends, family, community and academic life. Of course in this task it will be inevitable to return to some of my own anecdotes and experiences. But they are only intended to illustrate the reasons why Ricardo Caracciolo undoubtedly deserves this recognition. The list of disciples speaks eloquently of the greatness of a teacher, and in the case of Ricardo it shows us both his ability to bring together talented young people and also to encourage their academic growth, help them persevere in their vocations and collaborate so that they can access to more demanding and prestigious international stages; Although it now seems strange in those times none of us, his disciples, called Ricardo a teacher, since he avoided that label by emphasizing, without false modesty, that the teacher, that is, Ernesto Garzón Valdés, was still absent... The anecdotes continue and the appreciation of their actions throughout their academic life
