The concept of experience is central to the philosophy of Dewey, to the point that it becomes the axis of the debate between the “old” traditional philosophy and the “new” philosophy he proposes. The external world is no longer an external world but a medium in which every living being - also the maninteracts in one way or another. From this perspective, the experience is no longer only a way of knowing but the way of living and interacting with our physical and social environment

El concepto de experiencia es central en la filosofía de Dewey, hasta el punto de convertirse en el eje a cuyo alrededor gira el debate entre la “vieja” filosofía tradicional y la “nueva” filosofía que él propone. El mundo externo ya no es un mundo externo sino un medio en el que todo aquello dotado de vida -por tanto también el hombre- interacciona de una manera u otra. Desde esta perspectiva, la experiencia deja de ser solamente un modo de conocer para convertirse en el modo de vivir, de interaccionar con nuestro entorno físico y social
