El carrer de Barcelona és una de les vies principals de la ciutat de Girona que enllaça el centre de la ciutat amb les carreteres N-II i C-65. Durant el procés de construcció del carrer es va emprar l’amiant ja que el seu ús no estava prohibit en aquell moment i la seva utilització donava bones prestacions. En l’any 2005 es va prohibir l’ús de l’amiant en l’obra nova i els processos de manipulació dels elements constructius que continguin l’amiant han d’assegurar el despreniment mínim de partícules. Degut a això les obres de renovació del ferm del carrer de Barcelona s’han limitat a col·locació de la capa de rodolament nova sobre la capa antiga, sense retirar el ferm antic. També la capa amb amiant impossibilita l’ampliació dels serveis urbans que es troben a sota. L’objecte del projecte és dissenyar el mètode i especificar els procediments d’arrencament del paviment del carrer de Barcelona, i també, redimensionar la xarxa de serveis urbans que es troben sota del carrer d’acord amb necessitats actuals

The street of Barcelona is one of the main roads of the city of Girona that connects it downtown with the N-II and C-65 roads.
