Eating disorders (ED) are increasingly present in our daily lives. At the same time, there are sports that increase the risk of developing, for example, beauty sports, such as figure skating. The present work aims to find out what could be what unites the two worlds, for example, the risk factors for the development of eating disorders in figure skating. The main objectives of the study are primarily to compare the presence of risk factors for developing the disorder in three groups, ED patients in treatment, skaters, and general population. The second goal is to assess the perception of pressure to lose weight on skaters. Different self-reports, the Eating Disorders Inventory Release Version (EDI3-RF) and Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) are administered to all groups for first goal and Weight Pressure in Sport - Female (WPS- F) to the group of skaters for pressure assessment to lose weight. A total sample of 75 subjects is obtained, 25 in each group described. The results show that there are no differences between groups in terms of general risk factors such as bulimia, body dissatisfaction or obsession with weight. In relation to the pressure to lose weight in athletes, the role of the coach and the uniform are highlighted, as well as it’s influence on the group of skaters with the lowest BMI in the sample. Finally, information is provided on the protective role that group skating could play due to the risk of ED.
