El reconeixement: eix de les polítiques d’integració?

The article presents the way in which various authors have understood the concept of “recognition” and they proposed to apply it to guide policies in relation to individuals and groups who are identified as “ethnic minorities” or “immigrated people”. The text argues that some of the interpretations that have been made about this concept are especially useful and they help us to understand some of the problems and conflicts that these people and groups face. The article especially values the contributions of those authors who have been able to make an interpretation of recognition far from its community dimension and linked to the vindication of identities. It is also argued that this perspective is interesting insofar as it takes us away from other concepts (such as “integration” or “sense of belonging”) that put their focus more on the people who are the object of the policies, rather than on the policies themselves. Thirdly, some examples of recognition and lack of recognition actions are given to show how the work plan that emerges from these policies can be very far from communitarianism and the vindication of the identities, two tendencies with which they are often associated when criticizing recognition politics. Eix de les polítiques d’integració?Carles Serra Salaméorcid logo 16px Mostafà ShaimiA l’article es presenta la manera com diversos autors han entès el concepte “reconeixement” i han proposat d’aplicar-lo per a orientar les polítiques en relació a les persones i col·lectius que s’identifiquen com a “minories ètniques” o “persones immigrades”. Al text es defensa que algunes de les interpretacions que s’han fet d’aquest concepte són especialment útils i ens ajuden a entendre alguns dels problemes i conflictes que aquestes persones i col·lectius fan front. A l’article es valoren especialment les aportacions d’aquells autors que han sabut fer una interpretació del reconeixement allunyada de la seva dimensió comunitària i lligada a la reivindicació de les identitats.També es defensa que aquesta perspectiva és interessant en la mesura que ens allunya d’altres conceptes (com ara “integració” o “sentiment de pertinença”) que posen el seu focus més en les persones que són objecte de les polítiques, més que no en les polítiques mateixes. En tercer lloc, es posen alguns exemples d’accions de reconeixement i de manca de reconeixement per mostrar com el pla de treball que es desprèn d’aquestes polítiques pot estar molt allunyat del comunitarisme i de la reivindicació de les identitats, dues tendències amb què sovint se les associa a l’hora de fer la crítica a les polítiques de reconeixement. Finalment, es planteja la necessitat d’identificar pràctiques de reconeixement en l’àmbit local i de donar-les a conèixer
