Estudi sobre els coneixements i actituds envers l’eutanàsia en estudiants del grau d’infermeria i professionals d’infermeria: projecte de recerca

BACKGROUND. After being in the spotlight for a long time, the Congress of Deputies of Spain has given the green light to the Euthanasia Law; therefore, this practice will soon become a reality in our country. Due to the specific position that professional nurses occupy today in relation to the care of terminal and palliative patients, and taking into account that this group develops a key and unique role in the countries where euthanasia is already legalized, surely their involvement in this process will be essential. OBJECTIVES. The main purpose of the project is to learn, on the part of Nursing degree students and graduate or licensed professional nurses, their knowledge about euthanasia and its bioethical conflicts, the attitudes and the support of this practice. DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY. A descriptive and cross-sectional observational study will be carried out, with quantitative methodology. This will take place during the academic year 2021-2022 at the Nursing Faculty of the University of Girona (UdG) and in the different Inpatients Units of Santa Caterina Hospital (Salt). Two models of a structured and self-administered questionnaire have been designed: one for the sample of students and the other for professionals who have already graduated or licensed. Different sociodemographic variables, knowledge related to euthanasia and bioethical conflicts and, lastly, attitudes and support for the practice of euthanasia will be studied through two questionnaires already validated in the Spanish population: the Spanish version of the Euthanasia Attitude Scale ( EAS), the EAS-ES; and the Attitude Towards Euthanasia Scale (ATE), the Escala de Actitudes hacia la Eutanasia. All data will be analysed using the statistical Software «IBM SPSS Statistics ® 27»

INTRODUCCIÓ. Després d’estar molt temps en el punt de mira, el Congrés dels Diputats ha donat llum verda a la Llei de l’eutanàsia, per la qual cosa d’aquí poc aquesta pràctica es convertirà en una realitat al nostre país. Degut a la posició específica que ocupen avui en dia els i les professionals d’infermeria en relació a la cura de pacients terminals i pal·liatius, i tenint en compte que als països on l’eutanàsia ja està legalitzada aquest col·lectiu desenvolupa un paper clau i únic, de ben segur que la seva implicació en aquest procés serà indispensable. OBJECTIUS. La finalitat principal del projecte és la de saber quins són els coneixements sobre l’eutanàsia i els seus conflictes bioètics, actituds i suport d’aquesta pràctica, per part dels i les estudiants del Grau d’Infermeria i dels i les professionals d’infermeria graduats/des o llicenciats/des. DISSENY I METODOLOGIA D’ESTUDI. Es realitzarà un estudi observacional descriptiu i transversal, amb metodologia quantitativa. Aquest es durà a terme el curs acadèmic 2021-2022 a la Facultat d’Infermeria de la Universitat de Girona (UdG) i a les diferents Unitats d’Hospitalització de l’Hospital Santa Caterina (Salt). S’han dissenyat dos models d’un qüestionari estructurat i autoadministrat: un per la mostra d’estudiants i un altre pels professionals ja graduats/des o llicenciats/des. S’estudiaran diferents variables sociodemogràfiques, els coneixements relacionats amb l’eutanàsia i conflictes bioètics i, finalment, les actituds i suport de la pràctica de l’eutanàsia a través de dos qüestionaris ja validats a la població espanyola: la versió espanyola de la Euthanasia Attitude Scale (EAS), la EAS-ES; i de la Attitude Towards Euthanasia Scale (ATE), la Escala de Actitudes hacia la Eutanasia. Totes les dades s’analitzaran mitjançant el Software estadístic «IBM SPSS Statistics ® 27.0»
