Necessitats de les dones amb càncer de mama finalitzada la fase aguda del tractament: projecte de recerca qualitatiu

Background: Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed malignant tumour worldwide as well as the second most common cause of cancer related deaths. However, the evidence of women’s survival rates is high, positive and encouraging. Completing the acute phase of treatment, implies the arisal of different needs that can be of a physical, mental, social and spiritual nature. For this reason, these people need comprehensive and continuous care that can respond to their needs. Aim: Learn the needs of women with breast cancer following the acute phase of treatment. Methodology: A generic qualitative study that will be carried out from September 2021 to May 2022. The field of study is oncology and the community in the Girona Health Region. The target population will be women between 25 and 65 years old who have gone through the acute phase of breast cancer and will be chosen according to intentional sampling. This study, initially, will be based on a sample of 36 participants (approximately), divided into 4 focal groups of between 8 and 10 participants, with the possibility of molding the sample according to the saturation of information obtained during the course of the project. Focus groups will be carried out and the information will be complemented through a sociodemographic and clinical questionnaire and a guided conversation and the thematic analysis will be used to respond to the study goals. The project will be presented to the Clinical Research Ethics Committee of the University Hospital of Girona, Doctor Josep Trueta, ensuring that it meets the ethical and legal requirements. Practical implications: Through the results of this study, it is intended to provide nursing with knowledge about the needs, concerns, feelings and emotions expressed by women who have suffered from breast cancer. Hence a comprehensive, continuous and individualized care could be offered through the planning of interventions focused on the needs of each of the women

Marc teòric: El càncer de mama és el tumor maligne diagnosticat amb més freqüència arreu del món, i correspon a la segona causa de mort per càncer. Tot i això, les dades respecte a la supervivència d’aquestes dones, són taxes elevades, positives i esperançadores. El fet d’haver finalitzat la fase aguda del tractament, implica tenir esferes de necessitats, aquestes poden ser físiques, mentals, socials i espirituals. Per aquest motiu, aquestes persones necessiten una atenció integral i continuada que pugui respondre a les seves necessitats. Objectiu: Conèixer les necessitats de les dones amb càncer de mama finalitzada la fase aguda del tractament. Metodologia: Es tracta d’un estudi qualitatiu genèric que es durà a terme de setembre de 2021 a maig de 2022. L’àmbit d’estudi és l’oncologia i el comunitari en la Regió Sanitària de Girona. La població d’estudi seran dones entre 25 i 65 anys que hagin superat la fase aguda del càncer de mama i seran escollides segons un mostreig intencional. En el present estudi, inicialment, es partirà d’una mostra de 36 participants (aproximadament), dividits en 4 grups focals entre 8 i 10 participants, amb possibilitat d’emmotllar la mostra en funció de la saturació d’informació que s’hagi obtingut en el transcurs del projecte. Es realitzaran grups focals i es complementarà la informació a partir d’un qüestionari sociodemogràfic i clínic, d’una conversa guiada i, s’utilitzarà l’anàlisi temàtic per respondre als objectius d’estudi. El projecte es presentarà al Comitè Ètic d’Investigació Clínica de l’Hospital Universitari de Girona Doctor Josep Trueta, assegurant que aquest compleix els requisits ètics i legals. Implicacions pràctiques: A través dels resultats del present estudi, es pretén donar coneixements a la infermeria sobre les necessitats, preocupacions, sentiments i emocions que manifesten les dones que han patit un càncer de mama. D’aquesta manera, es podrà oferir una atenció integral, continuada i individualitzada a través de la planificació d’intervencions centrades en les necessitats de cada una de les dones
