Carme Raurich Saba was a sculptress born in Caldes de Malavella in 1920. She studied art in Barcelona and developed the first part of her artistic career between Girona and Barcelona, during the immediate post-war period. She received very positive reviews and was awarded a scholarship by the Diputació de Girona for several years. She participated in multiple collective exhibitions and did individual ones, in addition to receiving commissions to make public sculptures. In 1955 she emigrated to Argentina with her family and there she also participated in collective and individual exhibitions without losing the good consideration she already had in Catalonia. Raurich worked with various techniques and materials and focused her works on the figure of women. In addition, her style evolved over the years from academicism to the abstraction of forms | |
