Rehabitar el patrimoni : La Casa Pastors com un nou node cultural

El present projecte sorgeix del procés participatiu sobre els usos dels equipaments buits del Barri Vell de Girona dut a terme el juny del 2021 i comissariat per la Universitat de Girona, el Departament de Cultura de la Demarcació de Girona del COAC i l’arquitecta Itziar González. Aquest debat posa de manifest la gran quantitat d’edificis buits que hi ha actualment al Barri Vell i presenta les necessitats dels habitants del barri. A partir d’un anàlisi previ urbanístic de la zona s’escull la Casa Pastors com a seu del nou Centre d’Art Contemporani. La idea és potenciar l’art i la cultura entre els habitants del barri. Per aquesta raó es crea un equipament destinat a qualsevol persona relacionada amb el món artístic i cultural, tant poden ser estudiants, professionals o investigadors. El punt fort del projecte és la nova connexió entre la Plaça de la Catedral i la Pujada de Sant Feliu a través d’un passatge excavat a la façana posterior de l’edifici i travessant els patis ubicats a planta baixa. Es crea una estructura d’acer corten revestint aquesta façana, la qual pretén fusionar les plantes superiors i el nou accés. A més, permet la creació de balcons, extraient els usos cap a l’exterior. El programa s’organitza en dos nivells. El primer nivell inclou la planta baixa i planta primera de la Casa Pastors i s’hi situen els usos de caràcter més públic, com són la recepció, els espais d’exposició, la sala de conferències, l’administració i la zona de coworking. El segon nivell, ubicat a les plantes superiors, està format pels usos més privats, tals són els habitatges temporals i les zones comunes pels residents.

The present project arises from the participatory process on the uses of empty facilities in the Old Quarter of Girona carried out in June 2021 and commissioned by the University of Girona, the Department of Culture of the Girona Region of the COAC and the architect Itziar González. This debate puts manifest the large number of empty buildings that currently exist in the Old Quarter and presents the needs of the inhabitants of the neighborhood. Based on a previous urban planning analysis of the area, Casa Pastors is chosen as a headquarters of the new Contemporary Art Center. The idea is to promote art and culture among the inhabitants of the neighborhood. For this reason, a dedicated equipment is created to anyone related to the artistic and cultural world, they can be students, professionals or researchers. The strong point of the project is the new connection between Plaça de la Catedral and the Cathedral the Pujada de Sant Feliu through a passage excavated in the rear facade of the building and crossing the courtyards located on the ground floor. A structure is created corten steel lining this facade, which aims to merge the plants superiors and the new access. In addition, it allows the creation of balconies, extracting them outward uses. The program is organized in two levels. The first level includes the ground floor and the first floor of Casa Pastors and the more typical uses are located there public, such as the reception, the exhibition spaces, the conference room, the administration and the coworking area. The second level, located on the plants superiors, it is made up of the most private uses, such as temporary housing and common areas for residents.
