Les unions encaixades de fusta han estat una de les solucions més rellevants històricament arreu del món, fins a l’arribada dels components metàl·lics dins del camp estructural. Actualment, en un context on es tendeix a una construcció enfocada en el desenvolupament sostenible, és quan aquest tipus d’unió pot tornar a jugar un paper important. En les següents pàgines s’ofereix una visió general dels diferents estudis publicats en els últims anys sobre les tipologies i bases de càlcul referents a la unió fusta - fusta. Aquesta recerca servirà per ajudar a entendre el comportament estructural de la unió i discutir no sols la seva eficiència sinó l’aplicació de noves tecnologies en el sistema d’encaix en estructures de fusta.

Timber interlocking joints have historically been one of the most relevant solutions worldwide, until the advent of metal components in the structural field. Nowadays, in a context where the trend is towards a construction focused on sustainable development, this type of joint can once again play an important role. The following pages provide an overview of the different studies published in recent years on the typologies and calculation bases for timber-timber connections. This research will help to understand the structural behaviour of the joint and discuss not only its efficiency but also the application of new technologies in the assembly system in timber structures.
