Les operacions quirúrgiques suposen un risc d’infecció que pot comportar conseqüències greus per al pacient i una càrrega econòmica important per al sistema sanitari. S’ha arribat a calcular que el cost promig d’un infecció hospitalària és d’un 10.000€ per pacient. Sense menystenir aquest sobre cost econòmic que pot suposar una incidència d’aquest tipus, cal focalitzar el problema en el cost humà que pot suposar una infecció. El més important és la salut del pacient i la seva recuperació. En els últims anys s’està donant un gran valor a la seguretat i a la sostenibilitat dels blocs quirúrgics dels hospitals, tant a nivell internacional com aquí a Catalunya. És important conèixer quin és el millor disseny, com cal fer-ne la gestió i el manteniment amb la finalitat de poder realitzar una gestió de les instal·lacions més segura i eficient. Cal conèixer les normatives actuals, regulades a nivell europeu, i que marquen unes mínimes condicions que cal complir. L’objectiu d’aquest treball és descriure i realitzar la instal·lació d’un quiròfan que reuneixi totes les condicions per tal d’assegurar que les intervencions quirúrgiques es realitzin amb la màxima seguretat possible. Aquest objectiu passar per controlar els paràmetres que incideixen directament en els riscos d’infecció: humitat, temperatura, pressió, ventilació mitjançant l’aportació d’aire exterior, el filtrat, el soroll i el número de partícules suspeses a l’aire. Aquest projecte detalla el disseny d’un quiròfan, centrant-nos en l’automatització, per controlar els paràmetres previstos en la reglamentació vigent per tal de prevenir i minimitzar els riscos d’infecció
