The present study aims to include photography in cases of perinatal death in hospitals as a tool for overcoming grief and creating memories of the baby. In this research, two clinical cases of two different families with the common characteristic of having a perinatal death in the hospital Dr. Josep Trueta in Girona have been carefully photographed, observed and described. According to Gòmez and Motilla (2016), post-mortem photographs have a triple potential: testimonial (photography as a historical source), evocative (photography as a tool to stimulate memory) and creative (photography as a key element in the memory construction). This is an observational / descriptive study, as it is carried out through the subjective experience of parents and, based on subsequent interviews, the analysis of the thematic content is carried out to investigate the impact of the photographs on the mourning of these. The results show an immediate benefit in taking and later receiving the photos, but long-term research would be needed to determine the impact of the images months after they were taken. The immediate benefits of the project are discussed and it is valued to extend it to other hospitals.
