Determinació del risc de suïcidi en l’estudiantat de grau de la Universitat de Girona: projecte de recerca

INTRODUCTION: World Health Organization estimates that more than 700.000 people in the world commit suicide every year. Suicide represents the fourth cause of death among people aged 15 and 29 years old and the first non-natural cause of death in Spain. 2021 has been the year with the most deaths due to suicide ever registered in Spain, with a total amount of 4.003 deaths. It’s important to know the risk factors in order to identify those people who are in danger due to the high risk of suicide. One of these risk factors is academic stress, which affects university students. Moreover, these students belong to the ages where suicide represents the fourth cause of death. OBJECTIVES: To determine the risk of suicide in students enrolled in a degree in the University of Girona during the school year 2023-2024, to distinguish between the different faculties and degrees, to distinguish among gender identity, to distinguish between those students diagnosed with a mental problem or disorder and those that are not, to link the risk of suicide to the suffered stress, to identify if students have suicide risk and protective factors and to determine what percentage of students have these factors

INTRODUCCIÓ: La Organització Mundial de la Salut estima que més de 700.000 persones es suïciden cada any al món. El suïcidi representa la quarta causa de mort en persones d’entre 15 i 29 anys i la primera causa de mort no natural a Espanya. L’any 2021 va ser l’any amb el major número de suïcidis registrats en tota la història d’Espanya amb un total de 4.003 morts. És important conèixer els factors de risc per identificar aquelles persones amb més perill, un d’aquests factors és l’estrès acadèmic, que afecta als estudiants universitaris i que, a més, aquests estudiants es troben dins el rang d’edat en què el suïcidi representa la quarta causa de mort. OBJECTIUS: Determinar el risc de suïcidi dels i les estudiants matriculats i matriculades en un grau de la Universitat de Girona durant el curs acadèmic 2023-2024, diferenciar entre les diferents facultats i graus de la Universitat de Girona, diferenciar segons el gènere, diferenciar entre els estudiants diagnosticats d’algun problema o trastorn mental dels que no, relacionar el risc de suïcidi amb l’estrès patit, identificar si els estudiants tenen factors de risc i protectors i determinar en quin percentatge presenten aquests factors
