El sistema d’entramat lleuger de fusta (Light Timber Frame) és un sistema de construcció prefabricat en sec format per peces de fusta molt esveltes i fines, separades a una distancia curta entre elles, uns 40-60 cms i fixades amb marcs tancats (frames) o gelosies. Tenen un component estable, però per arribar a assolir l’estabilitat general de l’estructura, s’han d’arriostrar els entramats mitjançant els panells de tancament. L’arriostrament de les diferents parts que formen l’entramat es realitza amb fixacions mecàniques. Els sistema constructiu d’entramat lleuger de fusta és una manera de construir la qual fa 20 anys era quasi impensable a l’estat espanyol, però és una tècnica molt utilitzada en altres països del món com E.E.U.U., Canadà i el Nord d’Europa
