sector en concret Composite materials have existed for centuries, but the exacting requirements of the industries in the sector aerospace and defense, in search of resistant and low-density materials, triggered an acceleration in the advancement of research into new technologies and materials. A composite material is one that combines two or more components or phases that have different physical or chemical properties. In recent years, in the construction sector, polymer matrix composite materials or FRP (from Fiber Reinforced Polymers) have turned out to be very suitable materials for reinforcing concrete structures armed On the other hand, in the aeronautical sector it is predicted that in the next two decades they will retire to around 12,000 aircraft with a high percentage of FRP with carbon fiber or CFRP (from the English Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer). Consequently, the sector will be forced to consider disposal methods of FRP resulting from the dismantling of retired aircraft. This is one of the many examples in which they have of considering new disposal methods for materials that have reached the end of their useful life for a specific sector |
