Desigualtats de gènere i ètnia als serveis d’urgències hospitalaris i anàlisi de la interseccionalitat : revisió bibliogràfica

Introduction: Hospital emergency services play a key role within the healthcare system. However, several studies point out that inequalities exist in the care received depending on factors such as gender, ethnicity, or social class. These inequalities, often linked to implicit and structural biases, can affect the health outcomes of certain groups. In light of this reality, it is necessary to incorporate a gender and intersectional perspective to understand how these axes of discrimination are maintained and interact. Objectives: To identify the main inequalities affecting users of hospital emergency services and their impact on their health. Methodology: Bibliographic review. The databases Medline PubMed, Scielo, Scopus, APA PsycInfo and Dialnet were consulted during March and April 2025. Results: A total of 18 studies were included in the review. The results reveal significant inequalities in the care received in emergency services based on gender and ethnicity, particularly in intensive treatments, pain management, triage processes, and discriminatory treatment. These biases negatively affect the quality of care and health outcomes. Several studies highlight the need for an intersectional approach and specific training to ensure more equitable care. Conclusions: It is necessary to incorporate gender perspective and anti-racism training for emergency staff, review protocols to detect biases, implement tools for identifying discrimination, collect disaggregated data, and establish spaces for reflective supervision within units to promote more ethical and respectful care. Further studies with a gender perspective are needed
