Les dunes litorals de Torroella de Montgrí. Estudi d’un ecosistema fràgil

This research work focuses on the study of the coastal dunes of the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí and l’Estartit, an ecosystem often undervalued but of great environmental and protective importance. The interest in this environment arose as a result of personal research and the creation of the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park, which includes the dunes as protected areas. The work analyzes the associated flora and fauna, the function of the dunes in coastal protection against storms, and includes a granulometric study of the sands. The main objectives are to describe the dune ridges, identify plant and animal species, compare expert opinions, develop a phenology table, and promote awareness of the fragility and value of this ecosystem

Aquest treball de recerca se centra en l’estudi de les dunes litorals del municipi de Torroella de Montgrí i l’Estartit, un ecosistema sovint infravalorat però de gran importància mediambiental i protectora. L’interès per aquest entorn va sorgir arran d’una investigació personal i la creació del Parc Natural del Montgrí, les Illes Medes i el Baix Ter, que inclou les dunes com a espais protegits. El treball analitza la flora i fauna associada, la funció de les dunes en la protecció costanera davant temporals, i inclou un estudi granulomètric de les sorres. Els objectius principals són descriure els cordons dunars, identificar espècies vegetals i animals, comparar opinions d’experts, elaborar una taula de fenologia, i fomentar la consciència sobre la fragilitat i el valor d’aquest ecosistema
