This work offers an in-depth analysis of the philosophical, educational and political thought of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, focusing especially on his work The Social Contract. It begins with a presentation of the author’s objectives and a biographical contextualization, followed by an exposition of his philosophical system and his conception of the human being, as developed in the Discourse on Inequality. The work explores the practical applications of his thought in the educational (Emile or Education) and political (The Social Contract) fields, highlighting his proposal for a social pact as a response to the corruption of society. An extensive section delves into the detailed analysis of The Social Contract, examining its theoretical foundations, the nature of the pact, the problem of property, and the role of law and government. In addition, the presence of Greco-Roman classics in the work is studied, identifying multiple types of references —philosophical, mythological, literary, legislative and historical— and their argumentative function within the text. Finally, the work concludes with a reflection on the validity of Rousseau’s thought and its relationship with the ancient world, providing a critical and comparative vision between its political current affairs and classical civilizations

Aquest treball ofereix una anàlisi profunda del pensament filosòfic, educatiu i polític de Jean-Jacques Rousseau, centrant-se especialment en la seva obra El Contracte Social. S’inicia amb una presentació dels objectius i una contextualització biogràfica de l’autor, seguida d’una exposició del seu sistema filosòfic i la seva concepció de l’ésser humà, tal com es desenvolupa en el Discurs sobre la desigualtat. El treball explora les aplicacions pràctiques del seu pensament en l’àmbit educatiu (Emili o de l’educació) i polític (El Contracte Social), destacant la seva proposta de pacte social com a resposta a la corrupció de la societat. Una secció extensa s’endinsa en l’anàlisi detallada de El Contracte Social, desgranant els seus fonaments teòrics, la naturalesa del pacte, la problemàtica de la propietat, i el paper de la llei i el govern. A més, s’estudia la presència dels clàssics greco-romans en l’obra, identificant múltiples tipus de referències —filosòfiques, mitològiques, literàries, legislatives i històriques i la seva funció argumentativa dins el text. Finalment, el treball conclou amb una reflexió sobre la vigència del pensament de Rousseau i la seva relació amb el món antic, aportant una visió crítica i comparativa entre la seva actualitat política i les civilitzacions clàssiques
