The subject of this work is the monitoring of solid waste from its generation to its reuse after a recycling process or until its “extinction”, mainly focused on the municipality of Cervià de Ter, but adding methods used in other municipalities in the region. We currently receive a lot of information about selective collection, separation, different containers, ... but no one really knows what is done with it afterwards. A study has been carried out on the functioning of waste management in the municipality and possible improvements have been proposed. We believe that there is little knowledge on this subject. People consider that throwing waste into containers is already recycling. The great increase in waste generation as a result of our current consumption system means that in order to manage it, one must have a good understanding of it

El tema d’aquest treball és el seguiment dels residus sòlids des de la seva generació fins a la seva reutilització després d’un procés de reciclatge o fins a la seva “extinció”, sobretot enfocat al municipi Cervià de Ter, però afegint mètodes utilitzats en altres municipis de la comarca. Actualment rebem molta informació sobre la recollida selectiva, la separació, els diferents contenidors,... però realment ningú sap què se’n fa posteriorment. S’ha fet un estudi del funcionament de la gestió de residus al municipi i s’han proposat possibles millores. Creiem que hi ha poc coneixement sobre aquest tema. La gent considera que llençar residus als contenidors ja és reciclar. El gran augment de la generació de residus com a conseqüència del nostre actual sistema de consum fa que per a la gestió d’aquests se n’hagi de tenir un bon coneixement
