Characterisation and hydrogeological study of 10 springs and their corresponding aquifers in AMER, NE Catalonia

This study has been realised within the framework of the collaborative international Project consortium TREASURE (PCI2024-153436), funded within the framework of the Joint Transnational Call of the Water4All European Partnership, 2022 (European Commission and the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI) – Spanish State Research Agency): “Management of water resources: resilience, adaptation and mitigation to hydroclimatic extreme events and management tools”; a big thank you to everyone involved for facilitating the data and helping me along the way. Secondly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Anna Menció for her invaluable guidance throughout this project. Her support, patience, and willingness to teach me how to use advanced software tools such as SigmaPlot and SPSS—tools I had never worked with before—played a crucial role in the completion of this thesis. I am especially thankful for the trust she placed in me and for generously sharing some of her treasured books, which enriched both my understanding and my motivation. I would also like to thank my mother, Faye Cazzaniga, for being a rock through both the good times and the difficult ones, especially during this challenging fourth year. Her constant support, understanding, and calm presence have meant the world to me. To my girlfriend, Renée, thank you for your endless patience, encouragement, and thoughtful feedback throughout the writing process. Your help in reviewing my work and sharing your insights made a significant difference. A special thank you to my sister, Janna, for graduating alongside me and providing me with that extra motivation when I needed it most. Your positivity, humour, and joy have always helped me keep perspective. To my dad and my grandad, thank you both for your strength and support. Dad, your resilience in facing everything life throws your way has been a real inspiration. And grandad, thank you for always being there when I needed help, and especially for coming through with a replacement laptop when mine broke. I could not have done this without you both. Finally, I would like to thank all my friends and family, who are not mentioned by name. Your support, encouragement, and presence in my life have helped me stay grounded and focused throughout this journey
