Prensas para la elaboración de aceite en el establecimiento rural ibérico de Saus (Gerona): notas sobre la explotación del campo en el territorio de Emporion

The archaeological excavations carried out in 2007 and 2008 at the Iberian site of Saus, formed by 38 silos, have attestedto document the existence of an agricultural farmstead functioning from the late 6th century to the early of 4th century BC combined the farming of cereals with the elaboration of oil during its last occupation phase or at least from the latesecond half of 5th century BC, as it is inferred from the discovery of four oil presses bases in the abandonment levels of several silos

Las campañas de excavación llevadas a cabo durante 2007 y 2008 en el yacimiento ibérico de Saus, constituido por 38 silos, han permitido documentar la existencia de una explotación agrícola activa desde finales del siglo VI hasta inicios del siglo IV a.C., que compaginó el cultivo de cereal con la elaboración de aceite durante su última etapa de ocupación o, como mínimo, desde la segunda mitad avanzada del siglo V a.C., según se desprende a partir del hallazgo de cuatro bases de prensa en los niveles de amortización de diversos silo
