Creencias de los adolescentes respecto al consumo de drogas

In this study is analyzed the daily, occasionally and weekend consumption of tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, pills, cocaine and heroin, and also further the reasons why people starts to take this kind of drugs too. This study have been done with 321 students of third and fourth courses of Secondary Edu -cation (ESO) (age 15 years media, DT = 0.77) in four Institutes of the region of La Selva (Girona) during the period: 2011-2012. The results of the experiment shows that the tobacco is the most consumed substance daily (27.2 % of the boys and 30.2 % of the girls) followed by cannabis (11.1 % boys and 8.2 % girls). Experimentation is the main reason for initiation in consumption of all the substances mentioned. On the other hand, there is a high concordance between the experiment’s participants and their friends regarding to the consume of tobacco, alcohol and cannabis These results advise about the need of doing preventive actions with the young people who take this kind of substances

En este estudio se analizan la frecuencia de consumo diario, ocasional y de fin de semana de tabaco, alcohol, cannabis, pastillas, cocaína y heroína; los motivos de iniciación al consumo de alcohol, tabaco y cannabis; y algunas creencias respecto al consumo de drogas en función del género. Todo ello según una muestra de 321 estudiantes de tercero y cuarto curso de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (E.S.O.) (edad media 15 años, DT = 0,77) de tres centros de la comarca de La Selva (Girona) durante el período 2011-2012. Los resultados muestran que el tabaco es la sustancia más consumida diariamente (27,2 % de los chicos y 30,2 % de las chicas), seguida del cannabis (11,1 % de los chicos y 8,2 % de las chicas). El consumo de alcohol diario es minoritario (solo el 1,9 % de los chicos lo informan), pero un porcentaje notable de adolescentes informan consumir esta sustancia los fines de semana (28,4 % de los chicos y 34 % de las chicas). La experimentación es el principal motivo de iniciación en el consumo de todas las sustancias evaluadas. Existe una elevada concordancia del consumo de tabaco, alcohol y cannabis entre los participantes y sus amigos. Estos resultados subrayan la necesidad de llevar a cabo acciones preventivas del consumo de sustancias entre los más jóvenes
