This article presents the Catalan translation of Sh. Y. Agnon’s shortstory Tehilah, plus a study of the life and work of the great Israeli writer and winnerof the Nobel Prize in Literature Agnon’s works reflect his perception of being Jewish in a deeply troubled world.They express the mystery of God and the meaning of Jewish life in a singular fashion,using Hebrew of tremendous linguistic richness and a surprising literary stylewhich make him unique as a writer in the history of Hebrew literature

L’estudi presenta la traducció catalana de la novel·la breu de X. Y. Agnon Tehil·là acompanyada d’un estudi sobre la vida i l’obra d’Agnon, gran escriptor israelià i Premi Nobel de Literatura. Les obres d’Agnon reflecteixen la seva visió de la manera de ser jueva en un món profundament trasbalsat. El misteri de Déu i el sentit de la vida de les persones jueves hi apareixen expressats d’una manera singular, a través d’una llengua hebrea d’una gran riquesa i d’un estil literari sorprenent que el converteixen en un escriptor únic en la història de la literatura en llengua hebrea
