Empremtes del fantàstic en l’art català

This article studies the presence of the Fantastic in three specific moments of modernCatalan art history: the painting of the Modernisme, Dau al Set and its context, and somecontemporary photographic practices. The aim of the article is not to produce an inventoryof Catalan works and artists that have worked on or with the Fantastic, but todiscover its presence in the aforementioned moments, and to try to suggest its meanings. To do this, the article tries to establish a working definition of Fantastic art inorder to define its chronology and its main aspects; it examines also the presence of theFantastic in the Catalan cultural context

Aquest article revisa la presència del fantàstic en tres moments concrets de la històriade l’art català dels darrers dos segles: la pintura del Modernisme, Dau al Set i el seucontext, i algunes pràctiques fotogràfiques contemporànies. S’intenta en primer llocestablir una definició operativa del fantàstic que ens permeti fixar una cronologia idelimitar-ne els aspectes principals; tot seguit s’analitza la presència del fantàstic en elcontext cultural català i les seves limitacions. L’article no pretén fer un inventarid’obres i autors dedicats al fantàstic en l’art català, sinó rastrejar-ne l’existència en elsmoments esmentats i provar d’esbossar-ne el significat
