Validity of TQM Self‐Assessment Model: Opening the EFQM White‐box

The internal validity of the EFQM self‐assessment model, a descriptivecausalor theoretical model —in other words, a white‐box model—, isanalysed in this article. The main finding of the article is that the EFQMmodel enjoys robust internal validity, despite the fact that there existrelationships among some of its enablers and results that fail to reach asuitable level of validity. These findings coincide with the conclusionsdrawn from studies carried out previously for the Malcom Baldrigemodel. The conclusions drawn in the article may be of interest both foracademic and professional spheres of activity
