New insights into the history of the Campbell-Stokes sunshine recorder

The present paper presents an overview of Campbell’s life, along with the principal stages in the development of the Campbell- Stokes recorder, from its initial design in 1853 to the improvements made thereto by G. G. Stokes in 1880
