The categorization of the Franco regime as fascist, national-catholic or authoritarian has often sullied a possible solution that could come from the systematized study of the different pieces of this one. Unfortunately, the different attempts of historians to categorize Francoism in the different contexts of the last century have not achieved a satisfactory result, triggering a historiographic debate on a national scale. It is therefore necessary to tackle the Francoist apparatus that emerged from the July 18 uprising, analysing the different sectors and extremes of “el Movimiento”. It is no more and no less, where the genesis of our research lies: studying the figure of Vallejo-Nágera allows us to incorporate an unknown and inadvertent potential into the debate. The systematized study of the psychiatrist’s racial theories, trying to find their ideological sources, as well as their similarities with the most powerful biological-racial project of the 20th century, Nazism, serves us, without a doubt, to better frame Francoism
