La enseñanza de la estadística en la educación primaria colombiana: desafíos y oportunidades

ENG- This doctoral dissertation presents a study on the attitudes and knowledge of Colombian Primary Education teachers regarding the teaching of statistics. It draws upon curriculum reviews, previous research, and an analysis of tasks presented in Colombian textbooks within the framework of the Mathematics Teaching Itineraries Approach (MTIA). The study aims to analyse the current state of statistics teaching in primary education based on textbook tasks, teachers’ attitudes, and their statistical knowledge, in order to evaluate the teacher’s role in pedagogical practice and to identify strengths and limitations in statistical literacy. The study concludes that teachers require further training to adopt innovative pedagogical approaches, such as those inspired by the EIEM model, and to move beyond textbook dependency toward a dynamic and confident classroom attitude
